Muleshoe Shower

This weekend my Muleshoe friends threw a beautiful shower for me and Peanut! My mom flew in from Dallas and we had a great time at the shower and getting Peanut's room ready. We painted some of the furniture and organized all the adorable gifts she got. Thanks to all the hostesses and guests for creating special scrapbook pages for Peanut's first baby book!

Only 5 weeks to go as of today! We're getting the house ready and I'm trying to rest up. I'll be starting "Maternity Hours" at Tickled Paint soon and will have a little more time to get ready for Peanut. Daddy/Dad/Joe especially is getting pretty excited! Yesterday when I came home the first thing he said was, "When is she going to get here! I want to see my little girl!" Sweet comments now...I like it!

Countdown has begun!

My six week mark was this week and I only have two weeks to go before I have to check in with the doc every week! Tomorrow is my Muleshoe baby shower and I am very excited that my mom came in from Dallas tonight.

Peanuts' room is almost all together! We'll be painting her furniture tomorrow afternoon and the plumber will be back next week to install the toilet in the bathroom. Still needs a few wall hanging and decor pieces including the homemade bedding by Frances, but it's coming together nicely!

Joe surprisingly hasn't really made many silly comments in awhile! He's actually turned a new leaf and I think is getting a bit sentimental about the whole thing! A little more affectionate with the belly even:) I can't wait for him to see his Father's Day gifts! Despite the fact that I got nothing on Mother's Day (he says I can choose a new appliance, but that hasn't gone in effect yet!) I'll try to remember to puts pics up after Sunday.

Although, now that I think of it, I might not have mentioned that right before Mother's Day I did ask what I was getting and his response was "don't you think you should earn it" - or something to that affect....thankfully, I can usually appreciate his sense of humor and I wasn't too offended. I mean, I've only been carrying his child at that point for almost 7 months! No biggy!

I had a half - caff non-fat toffee-nut latte after dinner tonight with mom for the long drive back to Muleshoe. It obviously wasn't the best idea since it's almost 2am and Peanut and my brain cannot get to sleep! Lucky blog followers though!

Patrick Personality

So Peanut exhibited some true Patrick genes last week! After an hour in the waiting room for the last sonogram, she was not at all willing to have her picture taken! Her face was smashed against my uterus, the placenta was in front of her mouth and she had both hands up by her face! So, not a single good pic. And the sonographer commented twice about how much hair she has!! Now, Joe and I could not exactly tell from the pics, but she was pretty sure she has a LOT of hair!

Flooring for her room goes in Monday morning then I believe we'll have a vanity and toilet installed! Fabric has been purchased for the bedding and will be delivered to my sister Frances next weekend!

We're getting ready! No confirmed name just yet, but we're not telling you anyway!

Peanut's Nursery

Here are the pics of the mostly finished newly painted nursery! The designs & colors coordinate with vintage Barnum & Baily Circus posters and the fabrics for the bedding etc. are vintage prints. The scroll border was designed from a combination of one of the fabrics and some scroll patterns from Tickled Paint. Furniture will be arriving from Memphis by way of my sister meeting Joe in Little Rock in two weeks. Once the painting is done, we'll get new floors, a bathroom sink and toilet installed! It's going to be the nicest room in the house! The bathroom is blue and yellow harlequin but the picture doesn't do it justice - it's really cute!

Gettin Bigger

Well, it has been awhile, but not much has changed except the size of my belly! Some pregnancy symptoms have started to set in....swollen feet (although they don't look it, but they don't fit most of my shoes anymore!), a little heartburn and tired a LOT! I have eight weeks to go as of today. Can't imagine how much bigger I might get, but we have a doctor appointment on Thursday and we'll get to see how big Peanut is getting! I promise to post the 3d pic of her this weekend!

And the cutest thing Joe's said lately....one Sunday I was worried I hadn't felt Peanut all day and mentioned it to Joe. His response was "It's Sunday, the day of rest!"

No worries, she moves around a LOT!!
